Coaches

Teachers' and Coaches' Pledge

We, the teachers and coaches of Brent Dolphins Swimming Club, are committed to the ongoing development of the club and to realising the potential of every swimmer within it.

Squads

At the higher levels of performance, swimmers are divided into the bronze, silver and gold squads. Entry to these squads is defined by target speeds across all four strokes, which swimmers have to achieve. These targets are challenging - for example, membership of the silver squad requires a breaststroke speed over 100m faster than 1 minute 45 seconds, and a 100m freestyle speed faster than 1 minute 20 seconds.

Code of Conduct

This is a general code of conduct to establish a set of guidelines and procedures, which outline the responsibilities and behaviour of both staff and swimmers, who are members of the club. It is expected that the principles of this code should be followed at all events and training sessions.

Club Ethos

Brent Dolphins Swimming Club aims to promote the teaching and coaching of all aspects of swimming, including teacher training and lifesaving.

We teach and run the club within the framework of the Amateur Swimming Association and aim to involve all our members in various events that we put on throughout the year.

We pride ourselves in ensuring that everybody in the club works progressively toward higher goals in a safe and friendly manner.
